Trip to Egypt, 4 nights on a Nile cruise (Luxor-Aswan), 3 nights in Cairo. Our first experience of this kind and in our view, everything was very well organized. Upon arrival at Luxor airport, Travel Care's staff welcomed us and took us to the boat, where our guide Wael (Guay to his friends) was waiting for us and explained the included and optional visits (we wished they had given us an approximate price for the optional visits before the trip). The itinerary was very comprehensive, with visits to different temples, pyramids, mosques, markets, the Nubian village and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Although on some days we had to wake up very early, it was worth it to find the less crowded places and avoid the hottest hours (we went in August and the heat is unavoidable). A highly recommended trip and the Travel Care's attention both before and during the trip was excellent.

In Cairo the hotel also very good but a bit far away, but after so many excursions it's good to rest. We traveled to Egypt in November 2025, we took a promotion through a website unrelated to travelcare and, upon seeing that the hotel they assigned us was very far from the center, we requested a category change; the first time they told me it wasn't possible and a week later they themselves wrote to me again saying they had another operator, a bit more expensive but with more excursions and the hotel central in Cairo. At the airport GALAXIA picked us up, couldn't be better, while there were huge queues of monturista (thank goodness I didn't book with them); the person in charge from our company received us in a minibus and kept telling us things until we reached the cruise. The guide on the trip wasn't spectacular but the cruise NILE PARADISE and the RAMSES HILTON, the hotel in Cairo, no complaints and within what we expected! (You have to be realistic and know that you're going to EGYPT not to a 5-star in Dubai🤣) We would definitely do it again, above all grateful that it came from them to write to us about the change and make things easier for us since we were about to cancel when we just received the possibility. Ba Na Hills is a former French hill station at almost 1,500 metres above sea level, around 25 km from Da Nang, with a cool climate all year round. You go up on one of the longest cable cars in the world, around 20 minutes above jungle and waterfalls.
At the top you visit the pagoda with its great Buddha statue, the gardens and the French-style village, and walk across the Golden Bridge, the famous “Bridge of Hands” held up by two giant hands that look carved from stone, with views over the national park, the sea and Da Nang. Return to your hotel at the end of the day.

A full-day excursion from Ho Chi Minh City, ideal for the free day (day 10). After pick-up at your hotel, transfer to My Tho, the land of coconuts, and board a boat to cruise the great Mekong River, watching life along its banks. Stop on one of the delta’s islands to taste freshly picked tropical fruit to the sound of traditional Vietnamese music.
Then, in small rowing boats steered by locals, you glide along the narrow canals between water coconut palms to the family workshops: honey tea, handmade coconut sweets and a walk through the bee garden. In the afternoon, return to Ho Chi Minh City with a stop at Vinh Trang Pagoda, which blends Chinese, Khmer and French styles.

Within the 72 hours before landing in Hanoi, fill in the pre-arrival information form on Vietnam’s official Immigration portal. It’s free and gives you a QR code to show at passport control, even if you’re entering visa-free.
No compulsory vaccinations unless you arrive from a yellow fever risk country; your national health cover won’t apply and hospitals outside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are basic. Travel with insurance covering medical care and repatriation, use repellent against dengue and drink only bottled water.
The currency is the dong (VND). Cards are accepted in city hotels and restaurants and ATMs dispense dong, but markets, food stalls and taxis are cash only. Declare cash above 5,000 USD on entry.
Government travel advice is to take sensible care: watch for bag and phone snatching in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and keep your passport in the hotel safe. E-cigarettes and vapes are banned, drones need a permit and drug laws are extremely severe.
The north has cool winters (December to February, 10–20 °C in Hanoi) and hot, rainy summers. The centre sees heavy rain and a typhoon season from September to December. The south is warm year-round, with downpours from May to October. Pack layers and something waterproof.
Vietnam is on UTC+7 all year, with no clock change: five hours ahead of central Europe in summer and six in winter (six and seven ahead of the UK, Ireland and Portugal). The free afternoon on arrival day is the best cure for jet lag.
The official language is Vietnamese; you can get by in English in hotels and tourist areas. All the programme’s visits are led by an English-speaking guide, including aboard the cruise. Carry your hotel’s address written in Vietnamese for taxis.
The mains supply is 220 V with type A, C and F sockets: most continental European plugs fit, while UK and Irish plugs need an adapter. A small universal adapter avoids surprises in older hotels and aboard the cruise.
Wi-Fi is free and fast in hotels, cafés and restaurants. For data on free days, an eSIM or a local SIM bought at the airport costs very little and covers maps, translator and WhatsApp.
They’re not compulsory, but they’re expected: the operator suggests 3 to 6 USD per person per day for the guide and driver, depending on group size, and a few thousand dong at restaurants, for porters and on the cruise. Hand them over at the end of each stage.
Breathable clothes, comfortable walking shoes, a light raincoat, a cap, sunscreen and repellent. In pagodas, temples and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum you must cover shoulders and knees. A small bag with the essentials makes the night aboard far more comfortable.
