We traveled to Egypt in November 2025, we took a promotion through a website unrelated to travelcare and, upon seeing that the hotel they assigned us was very far from the center, we requested a category change; the first time they told me it wasn't possible and a week later they themselves wrote to me again saying they had another operator, a bit more expensive but with more excursions and the hotel central in Cairo. At the airport GALAXIA picked us up, couldn't be better, while there were huge queues of monturista (thank goodness I didn't book with them); the person in charge from our company received us in a minibus and kept telling us things until we reached the cruise. The guide on the trip wasn't spectacular but the cruise NILE PARADISE and the RAMSES HILTON, the hotel in Cairo, no complaints and within what we expected! (You have to be realistic and know that you're going to EGYPT not to a 5-star in Dubai🤣) We would definitely do it again, above all grateful that it came from them to write to us about the change and make things easier for us since we were about to cancel when we just received the possibility. Trip to Egypt, 4 nights on a Nile cruise (Luxor-Aswan), 3 nights in Cairo. Our first experience of this kind and in our view, everything was very well organized. Upon arrival at Luxor airport, Travel Care's staff welcomed us and took us to the boat, where our guide Wael (Guay to his friends) was waiting for us and explained the included and optional visits (we wished they had given us an approximate price for the optional visits before the trip). The itinerary was very comprehensive, with visits to different temples, pyramids, mosques, markets, the Nubian village and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Although on some days we had to wake up very early, it was worth it to find the less crowded places and avoid the hottest hours (we went in August and the heat is unavoidable). A highly recommended trip and the Travel Care's attention both before and during the trip was excellent.

In Cairo the hotel also very good but a bit far away, but after so many excursions it's good to rest. It’s an unhurried tour that blends guided days — strolls through citadels, temples and old towns — with two free days in Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City. There’s a fair amount of walking on the Hue and Hoi An visits and, above all, across the Angkor complex, often on uneven ground.
Vietnam: British and many European passport holders can visit visa-free for up to 45 days; others, including US, Canadian, Australian and Irish citizens, need an e-visa (evisa.gov.vn). Cambodia: almost everyone needs a visa, online at evisa.gov.kh or on arrival. Check what applies to your passport.
Your passport must be in good condition and valid for at least 6 months when you enter each country. Also complete two free online forms: Vietnam’s pre-arrival registration (in the 72 hours before you land there) and Cambodia’s e-Arrival card (during the trip, in the 7 days before you land there).
No vaccinations are compulsory, except yellow fever if you arrive from a country where the disease is a risk. Dengue is present in both countries, and malaria in some rural areas. See your doctor or a travel clinic well before you go, and check your own government’s health advice.
In Vietnam you pay in dong; declare cash above 5,000 US dollars on arrival. In Cambodia US dollars are used alongside the riel: bring small notes in good condition, as torn or old ones are often refused, and expect your change in riel.
Take the usual precautions and watch out for bag and phone snatching in tourist areas. Several governments advise against travel to Cambodia’s border area with Thailand; the tour stays well away, in Siem Reap and Angkor. E-cigarettes are banned in Vietnam. Check your own government’s travel advice.
The climate changes from north to south: winters are cool in Hanoi and Ha Long Bay; further south and in Cambodia it is hot and humid all year, with heavy rain in the monsoon season. Pack light clothing, a warm layer for the north in winter, a rain jacket and comfortable shoes for the temples.
At Angkor and in the pagodas you’re required to cover shoulders and knees. Bring light clothing that covers you up and keep a scarf to hand; shoes you can slip off easily are practical in temples and prayer halls.
Vietnamese and Khmer are spoken, and English is useful in tourist areas. The visits come with an English-speaking guide, including on board the Ha Long Bay cruise.
The supply is 220 V. In Vietnam and Cambodia plug types A, C and G are common; a universal adapter will save you trouble charging your camera and phone.
Gratuities aren’t included, and it is customary to tip guides and drivers. Carry some cash in small US dollar notes to thank people for their service along the way.
